Background Education
Tentative acceptance into the program is granted by the PRLEA Director where then you will undergo a personal or phone interview, background investigation, polygraph examination, medical evaluation, and payment of applicable program fees. Graduates of the program will then be eligible to apply for seasonal law enforcement jobs with the National Park Service AND agencies which recognize the State of Arizona POST certification.
Qualification requirements for the PRLEA:
- Students must be 21 years of age by the time of PRLEA program completion
- Students must be a U.S. citizen
- Students must have a clear criminal history and pass a background investigation (no felony convictions or serious misdemeanors including, but not limited to, drug, domestic violence or firearm violations.)
- No recent drug use including marijuana.
- Students must be in good physical condition and be able to pass the Physical Efficient Battery
- Students must meet the U.S Department of the Interior/National Park Service Medical Standards
- Students must be able to pass a drug screening test.
